I have had enough! I spend countless hours installing and reistall winG and Win32S, downloading and redownloading. Yet all I get when I try to run the editor is: win32s-error one or more system components is of older version. re-install. and then: error--this program requires war2ed95.exe, which is not found in the program directory. If I don't wind up with it working soon, I'm going to not only go insane but install windows '95 just so it will work!!!!!!!!!!! HHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey man, I have simpathy for you. I have been going through the same problems. I don't think that it is necessary to get win 95 to get this damn editor to work. I just think that someone with a kind heart should explain his editor installation victory step - by - step to us unfortunate souls.

The editor runs fine on my Windows for Workgroups. Some months ago, I bought a game magazine that came with a CD ROM containing demos. (Can't remember the rag's name, but any should do, as the files you need are increasingly used by new Windows games.) Well, one of the games made use of the WinG and Win32 .dll files, I think it was Activision's Shanghai, and the demo manager advised that it had to install these... Flash forward a few months: I buy Warcraft II, and the editor works perfectly. Good luck, Richard

I had the same problems. I just couldn't get the editor working. Then my system had a near-fatal heart attack (unconnected to the editor) and rather than re-install DOS, Windows and all the millions of upgrades for Windows I had scattered over loads of disks I thought 'Bugger it' and installed Win95. I'm not a huge '95 fan, but at least I could use the editor. Using '95 (on a P90) I found that the game and especially the sound was jerky running in a DOS box, but worked fine if you set it to go to DOS mode first. The only problem I had was my cheap'n'tatty SB16 clone sound-card. If I was running in a DOS box under '95 it appeared on one set of interrupts, in DOS mode a different set, and half the time didn't work in either. In the end I bought a geniune SB16 and now everything works perfectly. Leslie Styles l...@soton.ac.uk

Are you downloading "per1118.exe" (Win32s) & "wing10.exe" (WinG) ? If so : Put each in a separate directory on C: drive. Execute them to unzip the files to the directories. Run "setup.exe" or "install.exe" (whatever the reeadme files say) and it is all automatic. If you have done that; sorry.
