6.2 after one month

Well, it was pretty fun the first few weeks, problem is... I've mostly
finished with it now, hmm. Exalted with 2 factions, only need probably
2-3 more weeklies for the Saberstalkers. Got most slots at 695 now,
those I don't likely won't take much longer and anyway, would be nice
to get SOME upgrades in LFR. Got all toy drops, only need to save
apexis for the mount (comes fast enough by garrison missions tbh), and
several thousand claws for the saberstalker rewards (eh, sod that,
I'll farm them properly next expansion).

All I really miss now in Tanaan is 4 rares for the killing them all
achievement (1 never spawns, the other 3 are in elite areas and I'm
not too keen on trying to find their spawnpoints solo), and one pet
from the pet battle bags. Admittedly, I'm glad it's not quite as much
a grindfest as Timeless Isle (I *still* miss tons of stuff for Going
to Need A Bigger Bag, and I tend to visit at least once a week to have
another shot...), but I'd hoped it'd last more than a month before I
got bored; TI seemed to hold the interest for longer.

Back to old content for me then, I guess... well, ok, and doing weekly
LFR runs soon, if I can just bring myself to do Everbloom and actually
start that legendary chain. And this is meant to be the last major
patch, with no sign of the next expansion; I hope it's not another
year+ of the current content...

I've heard all kinds of speculation, not got much idea what's likely
to be right or wrong. March is at least better than the usual
October/November kinda time, still a long way away if there's truly no
new content in that time though. Shorter than past expansions, but...
past expansions had more content to begin with so more to fill the
long gap!

Tbh I don't really want a new expansion too fast, if there's actual
content in the meantime - I like the usual cycle of a year and a bit
of plenty to do, and then half a year or so break to relax, tidy up
old things I'd not finished, go off and try new stuff with alts... if
lucky, play around in the beta a bit, then start up again for the next
expansion. Wish they'd stick with that; it works! Usually, at least;
SoO patch was too long because they rushed the previous patches, just
spread them out better and all would be fine. (For me, anyway, no
doubt not everyone thinks the same :-))

If you're on US servers you'll be fine, it's easy to earn 20-22k gold
a month if you've got at least one 100 and a few mins a day to do the
garrison chores... European servers are more than double that though,
and while I can manage it, I don't particularly want to pay that much,
especially with 2 accounts to support; there's other things I want to
buy too!

Finally... I figured if I was ever going to do it, the weekend when it
gives rep with the one faction I don't yet have exalted would be a
good time! Luckily, the tank and at least one dps wanted rep too, so
despite requests from one other dps, we didn't do any silly
walljumping at all, and killed loads of stuff, the way I like to run
instances :-D Admittedly, I sometimes wished the tank wouldn't pull
quite so much, particularly packs of casters who kept freezing me and
aoeing us all, but nobody died, so success ;-) Thank goodness, that's
hopefully me finished with pugging dungeons for this expansion then.

Now to head back to the instance and look for the objects for the inn
quests, now I've got bosskill credit, then see what's next in the
legendary chain - hopefully not too far till I get my ring upgrade to
680 :-)

Oh dammit, handed in quests: now go to Auchindoun. Crap, well I hope
THAT is the last 5-man I have to pug.... and hey, it too gives rep
with Laughing Skull so I guess I'd better get brave and do it today
:-)

Hah, nice, must be fun getting a group like that. I had a Grimrail
Depot with a tank who didn't need much healing, unfortunately the rest
of the group had far lesser gear, and with the amount of aoe'y mobs
the tank kept pulling, I lost someone every few pulls (including dying
myself to one), so that was more stress than fun... but in a place
with a tad less aoe/random targetting, I can see that being a lot of
fun :-)

Found them all now; had got the bird ages back when it was
stealthable/suicide runnable (I did a suicide run and died next to it;
my bf stealthed through and ressed me!), the other two luckily showed
on the map, and all trash was gone when I re-entered, phew. Only got a
few inn quests left now, after all the time it took me to get to lvl
3; just Shadowmoon and UBRS, and one in Skyreach left.

Phew, that group was even better... and that with the tank abandoning
us halfway through when he hit exalted, the next tank was also great!
That's 3 out of 4 pug heroics actually been good groups, I should try
and remember that in future and not get so worried about bad groups,
only one left me seriously stressed out, others have been fine; I even
actually enjoyed both Auchindoun and Slag Mines :-)

Still glad to see that I'm done with the 5-mans though, from what I
can tell on wowhead, pugging Highmaul will be rather less stress ;-)

I'm not going to say that I told you so :-) But I'm glad you had a good time
because I know how reluctant you were about it.

To many more good 5man pugs!

Cheers

Hehe, well, one of the four did live up to my fears, so I wasn't
totally wrong :-P But I enjoyed the rest so phew, thank goodness,
could've been worse at least :-)

>To many more good 5man pugs!

Hah, well, given this expansion has little reason to run them, that'll
be no more till next expansion I think ;-) Will try and get some on
the vanilla realm though; I'll be less nervous as a dps in dungeons
I'm familiar with, too :-)

Did Highmaul tonight, 15/125 stones, this could take a while... but
apparently I can get another 15 from a shipyard mission that popped
up, that kind of thing will help a lot! Gotta love how the drops I
wanted months back drop now, when I way outgear the place ;-)

Ok, these shipyard missions for stones are great, got another today (I
guess it came so soon because it was weekly reset time maybe, surely
they don't usually spawn every other day!), and after doing Highmaul
again, I'm at 65/125. Here I was worried it'd take me a couple of
months to finish this step, at this rate 2 more weeks will do it :-)
Guess shipyard is the catchup mechanism for people like me who are
late to the party, it must've taken a lot longer before that got
added.

Oh yeah, and great name for today's mission: "A Kind of Magic"... been
listening to Queen quite a lot lately so yeah, that song's stuck in my
head now :-P

So those missions are definitely the catchup mechanism, had them
nearly every day, and in 4 hours I'll have my 125 stones - just
exactly one week after I started the quest :-) Crazy fast, feels
almost trivial tbh but oh well, I won't complain at getting a bit
nearer to the current stage, I guess it's Blackrock Foundry LFR farm
next then!

Same here. I got the 125 stones in 7-8 days on my shammy.
Next part is 900 runes for 3 tablets. First day I get 18 runes from a
garrison mission. The day after I get 18-20 runes from a ship mission,
third day another garrison mission with 18 runes etc.. I wont bother
with LFR as I find the raid instances in WoD booooooooooooriiiiiiiiiing!

I'm at a point where I dont really need to do anymore Tanaan dailies.
Mage, lock and shammy are at ilvl 687-696 which is fine by me. So the
last 4-5 days I geared up 2 more 100 alts to ilvl 675 so I could get
access to the extra garrison missions (mounts, toys and all that stuff).
Now its time to finish some ach's, do some mount farming, pet battles
and yadda... :)

Nice, sounds like garrison's a good way to do this then. Kind of a
shame though, I liked where it was more about bothering with the
raids... doesn't seem much challenge this time, just another thing to
sit in the garrison and do.

I'll still do the LFR as I rarely bothered with it at the time so it's
not too old hat yet (and I still need Blackhand's music roll), but
yeah, not a big fan this expansion. They killed it for me; mechanics
mean nothing, drops are worse than garrison rewards/Tanaan gear,
what's the actual point in doing it any more? Bring back MoP LFR, I'd
far rather spend time wiping but enjoy learning the mechanics and get
rewards worthy of the effort than faceroll boring stuff for junk.

Also I'd be a damn sight more likely to actually try group finder for
normal mode if LFR let me learn the mechanics - now in MoP I learned
how to do Durumu's maze, what to avoid, etc etc; in WoD I've learned
nothing whatsoever, since things that are flagged up as things to
avoid or beware of do like 10k dmg and everyone completely ignores
everything.

I've only even bothered with my main, not got the interest level to do
alts this expansion, and that's *really* worrying, when I normally
have between 5 and 10 max lvl alts each expansion; I only have 2 this
time and the 2nd one hasn't been to Tanaan. 690 ilvl on the main, and
got an upgrade stone in my bags waiting for a decent Baleful item to
upgrade. I haven't actually bothered with Tanaan much since hitting
exalted on 2 factions though, can't seem to find the interest.

I really want to camp rares to clear up that achievement, but of the 4
I miss 1 never spawns and the others are deep in elite areas; I can't
kill more than one elite at a time, no CC and low dmg :-/ Also about
halfway to the 150k apexis crystal mount, I should get round to that
but kinda bored of "fill the bar" dailies... I so hope Legion gives us
better options for stuff to do at max lvl.

At least the weekend events are kinda interesting though, too many
dungeon events for my liking but this week's pet battles one is good,
got about 15 pets maxed out so far, and while I was farming the other
day, NPCScan went off for Gorok, didn't recognise the name at first
till realisation kicked in: mount rare! Ugly mount but hey, another
for the collection :-)

Well. I've been searching for tips and tricks about powerleveling in
WoD. I was stuck at 93 on my pally until I decided to skip the original
questing and do the bonus objective areas in each zone. I found out
that wasnt a bad idea. :)

Full heirloom set (minus rings), full rested exp bar and a handful of
those +20% exp pots in my bags. I went from 1-2% in 93 to 80% in 97 in
3-3½ hours and I still had ~500k rested exp when I stopped. That
surprised me! Also. I skipped some of the areas in Gorgrond as I was
lazy. But I have to add that I did the lvl94 quests in the area western
part of SMV (ally side) + I did the first few quests in arak so I got
the +20% exp zone buff as well.
I hit 98 before I completed the third bonus area in Spires and then I
went to Nagrand and did some normal questing and a single bonus area.
Boom. Lvl 100.

I'll start leveling my monk and DK soon. Both are at 91 and both has
got their garrison up. This time I will _not_ do any ordinary questing.
Bonus objective areas only. I guess I will spend ~6 hours on each
char and still enjoy the leveling.

I bought the 150k mount a week ago. I had 230k apexis on my lock so I
bought the mount and 4 of those 650->695 items which I spent on another
alt. I really apppreciate Blizzard made those BoA. :)

Heh, that's not a bad idea; tbh I like the questing experience (best
thing in WoD for me!), but nice to have an alternative route, as I've
done the major questlines enough to know them by now. I'll quest
properly when I get round to an Alliance alt though, love any snippets
of Draenei story I can get along the way :-)

Yeah, the BoA is great, I keep getting drops that I don't hugely need,
so once I outgear them on my main, my alts can have them. Wish the
Baleful items were BoA too, but at least they turn into good dust
(which has admittedly crashed the price of dust!); the enchanting
building is great for that.

126 runes from LFR all wings, that wasn't too bad, needed to do them
all for the other quests anyway:-) Got an 18 runes mission too,
hopefully rest of the missions will follow daily like yours did, also
should get another 100+ from LFR on Wednesday (with, hopefully, better
groups, apparently it is in fact possible to wipe by everyone ignoring
mechanics ;-)), so seems like about 3-4 weeks to finish this stage,
not too bad really!

Late week pugs are hard work though, one run I was the only healer
with over 250k health (I had 348k to give an idea of the difference),
and it sure felt like most of them were lowgeared going by the amount
of healing needed. Another one only 3 of us seemed to be healing at
all, going by the meters, and one of those was lowgeared, so hard work
again, then in a 3rd run one of the tanks seemed to be wearing armour
made of paper, he died so often! At least in BRF some (only some...)
of the mechanics actually do mean something, unfortunately they mostly
mean a whole ton of healing is needed :-P
