My bf returned to the game a few days back, and yet again he's levelling a new alt instead of playing the max lvl characters he already has, there's a surprise :-) Had a bit of fun though, as he asked me for a boost in Bloodmaul Slag Mines, I wasn't too sure how difficult it'd be but it actually went fine - he helped out with crowd controlling a bit (lucky he's a paladin, since as a priest my only crowd control is rather ineffective roots...), surprised how easy it was! Had a shot at Iron Docks next, a bit tougher, but still ok, albeit it was clear that that was as far as we could go with me tanking, had a couple of close calls where only my angelic bulwark saved us. After that he got levelling, hit 100 and we had a shot at Skyreach tonight, thinking we could get him onto the same step of the legendary chain as me (yes, I'm STILL on the heroic 5-man step...), well, first 2 bosses went well enough, hard work, but possible. But Rukhran, ouch! Going by wowhead comments it is generally a tough boss but jeez, totally impossible for us, bf couldn't move away from the boss to help on the adds or we'd get nuked, and I didn't have the dps to keep the adds down, was sort of ok at first but then I got a 2nd one and it was all downhill from there, ended up with about 4 of the things chasing me and the boss was barely down to 50% because I couldn't do any dmg to it while kiting adds and desperately attempting to get any heals at all on my bf. So we gave up hehe, clearly it's not just him who needs to get better gear for duoing 5-mans; I do as well! Kinda hoping that the lvl 100 places are less bad though, so we can at least explore a bit; I far prefer exploring new places when not rushing to keep up with high-speed pugs/stressed out in case a mistake gets me yelled at, so hopefully with some Tanaan gear we can do some exploring. My bf's going to pug Skyreach now (at least we saw that one while levelling), then maybe we'll get brave and pug Bloodmaul Slag Mines (less scary when we've done it already) and make a start on the legendary quest... if it was only one heroic needed, I'd have found the courage to do it by now, but three is rather daunting! Hopefully we can take a look at the other two on normal mode and at least get a feel for the first boss or two even if we can't finish them till we go on heroic. Silly thing with me is, it's just fear of new places that I don't yet know; I think I'll be fine doing the Timewalking dungeons right away, because I know them from the olden days. If only there was a way to explore these places and learn the fights without needing to do so with a bunch of total strangers...!
