So, I was aware of disconnect protection when logged into the game, ie, you don't get put back in the queue if you get dc'd, so long as you're quick enough getting back in. What I didn't know is, it also applies if you're IN the queue; I always assumed you had to actually be in the game for it to work! Been sitting in the queue for 3 hours already when my net blipped off - cue much cursing as I discover it was off long enough to DC me from WoW, but when I lgoged back on, it first showed the queue as 5.2k for a second, then jumped me to 1.6k, which was about where I was before the dc. Phew! Never knew that one before :-)

Phew! Never knew that one before :-) If "The Patient" title wasn't ingame already, it really should be awarded to anyone patient/crazy enough to sit through this queue. 4.5 hours in, still got 800-odd to go... whilst I'm trying to be patient and not join the idiot hordes on the forums ranting and raving and demanding refunds, this is a LITTLE frustrating, when I've been looking forward to WoD so long! :-P

Phew! Never knew that one before :-) I noticed that but just thought it was normal for these things. I also noticed once you did logoff the queue position was going up, perhaps some sort of 'you have been on , let someone else have a go'? I would agree with that, or it may have been a blip,or dc'd people reconnecting as you said. > If "The Patient" title wasn't ingame already, it really should be > awarded to anyone patient/crazy enough to sit through this queue. 4.5 > hours in, still got 800-odd to go... whilst I'm trying to be patient > and not join the idiot hordes on the forums ranting and raving and > demanding refunds, this is a LITTLE frustrating, when I've been > looking forward to WoD so long! :-P There are a lot, I am just being entertained, the numbers show just how many are really casual most of the time. Last night after 6 hours to get on. I went out shopping, cleaned the car, finally got on , my character that was stuck flying out of the garrison was back at garrison and pvp flagged ?? A REALLY funny thing, system was goin down in half an hour for 4 hours . I was giggling at the unfolding tragedy and QQ you could bottle :-) So just parked them all to get rested. Saturday now and it is going down for another 6 hours from 7pm in OZ. All the QQ, people demanding refunds, what do they want? The game is usually available 23.5/7 the rest of the year for 50 cents a day, 2-3 cents an hour for that sort of availability is dirt cheap. There probably aren't all that many new players but more are staying longer to start off all their alts and explore the new , longer time in game means the queue grows. Demanding Blizz should 'do something' for a spike in human behaviour plus a heap of antisocial activity doesn't make much sense. Most of those people aren't going to leave, they aren't even leaving the queue. I gave up when it was up to 2 days this morning, quickly settled down to only 7 hours. If blizz just said, WOD, free lvl 90, free 2 days play to get over the lagfest. Would that satisfy them? I already had 7 days free play before this, I figure I have already had a payment for the wasted time, so I can be pretty casual about it :-) That contributed a bit to load , the free days should come AFTER xpac release, to keep the numbers at actual release down but the market doesn't really reward reason and honesty. It is pretty impressive the way it is handled at all. The worst lag I saw in draenor was a sea of characters parked at NPCs in their most colourful sparkly epeen mounts, full gear, a dozen popping trains. The animations are mostly local but the servers have to tell every character what every other character is doing, the more they do in that location the more the lag. People are not doing much to help out the load, popping dance and choo-choo animations, running round and round in fast little circles, bouncing up and down, all little packets the servers have to interpret.

Ouch, that's unlucky timing for you guys! Ours is going down 5am server time, 4am for me, a good time to go to bed, I'd say! > All the QQ, people demanding refunds, what do they want? >The game is usually available 23.5/7 the rest of the year for 50 cents a >day, 2-3 cents an hour for that sort of availability is dirt cheap. > There probably aren't all that many new players but more are staying >longer to start off all their alts and explore the new , longer time in >game means the queue grows. > > Demanding Blizz should 'do something' for a spike in human behaviour >plus a heap of antisocial activity doesn't make much sense. >Most of those people aren't going to leave, they aren't even leaving the >queue. I don't think even they know what they really want, they're just yelling because they can! I'm frustrated, and I have made a few (polite) posts on the subject of leaving open incoming transfers to a full server (we'd still have been queued today but if incoming transfers had been locked when we were getting 2k queue during every single content patch in MoP, it might have been only a 2 hour queue instead of a 6 hour one...), but screaming for refunds is just silly, patience is worth a lot here. It's annoying, but hey, during my long queue time I sat down and listened to my soundtrack CD; normally that wouldn't have got played for months after, because I'd be too busy playing the game! Some pretty good tracks on there :-) >It is pretty impressive the way it is handled at all. >The worst lag I saw in draenor was a sea of characters parked at NPCs in >their most colourful sparkly epeen mounts, full gear, a dozen popping >trains. Lol, very true indeed. My favourite hotfix note is that train sets are now disabled, they may not actually have affected the lag too much but they certainly do nothing to help anyone's frustration level lol. I read on a forum someplace that the Lil' XT pet destroys trainsets with no cd, I think I might just invest in one next time Blizz have a sale on pets... (I HATE train sets :-P) My play experience today: Log on after maintenance, quite playable for a couple of hours, then got laggier and laggier. Gave up and went for a nap, joined queue, sat in queue for 6 hours. Managed to do some quests, laggy, but just about playable, then made the bad mistake of trying to visit my garrison, hoping enough people had logged off for it to work. Nope, still broken, and now I'm phased from the rest of the world and can't see NPCs anywhere. So I logged an alt in Pandaria and I'm doing dailies over there for a while in hopes that being logged off for half an hour will reset my main so I can actually see stuff - even if i can't get my work orders placed, it'd be nice to do some missions (I am SO glad they put mission tables in all the outposts!) and maybe actually a few more quests before maintenance!

ROFL! I have to admit I cant imagine 3-4 hour long queues for the game. But I'm lucky as I play on a lowpop realm. Tonight around dinner time I waited 22 mins. And within the next few days that queue will undoubtly be gone. :) -- Peter T. <https://www.elitedangerous.com/>

(I HATE train sets :-P) OH EXCELLENT!! now if only they remove them completely cue QQ from people who paid for trains , no QQ at all from people who paid for wreckers :-) http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/15270807415 I already had a train wrecker because people are always popping them in the AH. I use it as much as the cooldown allows , even swapping banker alts to get one without a cooldown lock but more trains than wreckers. > > My play experience today: Log on after maintenance, quite playable for > a couple of hours, then got laggier and laggier. Well , it is 1.54 pm. For a laugh I just tried to queue again. 4387th est time 1200 mins (then dropped to only 900), shutdown from 3am pst to 9am pst. It is getting better, only half a day, down from 2 days yesterday. I had the time wrong, that is shutdown 9.30pm-3.30am here not 7pm. Chances of any wow this weekend, zero. Chances of weeding and path laying, high. That is my xpac experience done. Most entertaining, I have pics of the queue screen in thousands of minutes to remind me that if there is ever a new one the only viable plan is not to even attempt it.

It wasn't actually the -first- bit of xpac, I got a bit of WOTLK and on other games.F2p launches and such. This is the first I was fully established, ready to roll and see how I could finally for a short while be somewhere within sight of the edge of the wave. Pretty much a bust, back into the backwater :-)

Pretty much the same as every time I order something in, pay for it, pay tax on it and wait a week for it to be delivered. Then find out the truck broke an axle, rolled over, crushed its load and have to wait another two weeks. Situation normal a f u. It is a game, it isn't like your mothers heart medications haven't arrived.

That wasn't meant to be an aggressive reply but could have sounded it. We have a visitors staying for the weekend and they were swapping truck roll stories. I am looking at a 10 hours queue for a game, she is saying 'and then the rear trailer started sliding over the edge of the embankment..ohhh shit'

Hehe yeah I had the train wrecker too, still not enough to keep up with the number of trainsets though, I'm delighted about the disabling, even if it's only temporary! If it doesn't stay removed, I'll be getting a Lil XT i think... >> My play experience today: Log on after maintenance, quite playable for >> a couple of hours, then got laggier and laggier. I was lucky, our server was up early and I happened to be awake so beat the queue, amazingly, the changes appear to have worked, as I'm able to play, without lag, despite the server being queued! Thank goodness for that, hopefully it'll stay working and the next step will be raising the cap again to reduce queues, won't help my realm that much as we'd be queued regardless, but at least lower pop realms will be better off. >Chances of any wow this weekend, zero. >Chances of weeding and path laying, high. > >That is my xpac experience done. >Most entertaining, I have pics of the queue screen in thousands of >minutes to remind me that if there is ever a new one the only viable >plan is not to even attempt it. Heh I don't blame you, in fairness, it's not usually anything like this bad though, this one's just been a disaster.
