Sometime -after- 5.4
it isn't old news because it isn't  -new-s until it happens :-)

I don't know what the problem with just merging realms is.
Maybe the point about closing realms being bad PR.
Also the names which are still limited but names already have long titles 
attached so the size and working out how to merge names isn't a design 
issue. Someoneshoot-ex-Caelestrasz should not be that much of a personal 
issue.
But now we can have people complaining about #smoker,  #ofit

Patch 5.4, all you can be sure about before hand is warriors charge will 
still be bugged as it always has been.

Concept's been announced a while now, still curious how it'll work and
which realms will be affected though! My realm is rather lopsided;
Alliance needs the connected realms, Horde however does not... are we
gonna be half connected then? Who knows. Maybe if there's some server
lopsided in the other direction we can connect with them, but... we'll
be hellishly overpopulated if so, we already have massive overcrowding
in every new area which is introduced. Have to wait and see but I have
to say I'm hoping we aren't involved in this as we're already
seriously overpopulated, it's just unfortunate it's mostly on one
faction.
