Got this email from Blizzard last night. I've checked the links and its not fake. Anybody else who have got this invite? I wonder what kind of cool gift Blizzard will give us. :) ---- Greetings, You're invited to try out Blizzard Entertainment's new desktop app for Battle.net designed to improve the launcher experience for all Blizzard games and streamline the ability for players to get into their games. The app's single sign-on functionality will allow you to log in once to access World of Warcraft, Diablo III, and StarCraft II. You'll also be able to install Blizzard games through the app and keep them up to date automatically. As a beta tester, you'll be able to download an early version and provide feedback. In addition, closed-beta invitees who download and use the app during the closed-beta period will receive something cool from Blizzard and the Battle.net team in thanks. Participation is entirely optional, but if you'd like to give this update a try, simply follow the instructions and read the important information below. -- Peter T. <https://elite.frontier.co.uk/>

I'll see how big the download is and give it a go if it's not too large. While I'm all for a cool in game pet, I'm not sure I'll ever reactivate my wow subscription, so might not profit from that goodie (unless we also get something for SC and D3). I installed the thing last night (didn't take all that long to download) and I have to admit I quite like what I see. It found all my Blizzard games and then automatically started updating my wow installation to patch 5.3 (it had been sitting at 5.0 since my month of Panda play) at download rates I haven't seen since BC days (1.5mb/s instead of the 400kb/s I had for Pandaria, SC2 and D3), it then proceeded to update my SC2 installation too. All very smooth and in once place. Still it's good to see some of the regulars remain. Enjoy it and as the flight master in IF says: "keep your feet on the ground" :-) Cheers Urbin -- Dun Morogh-EU (PvE) | Tunyatgong (12), Monk | Juran (65), Druid Urbin (90), Hunter | Surana (75), Mage | Greeta (65), Rogue Mymule (85), Warlock | Kordosch (75), Deathknight | Gera (26), Paladin Sunh (81), Priest | Taalas (85), Shaman | Vargal (42), Warrior

Yeah I've installed it now, looks nice so far. It copes with asking it to run two copies of WoW at once (which I was worried about, as I like dualboxing!), and as a nice little bonus, you can log into other regions without messing with config.wtf. I was rather surprised to spot my US starter edition account in the list of accounts, but very handy indeed! I tested it and I can indeed just log straight in, takes a second or so to download a new file (that'll be the realmlist I guess) and there you go.
