Love the look of this -
http://media.mmo-champion.com/images/news/2013/july/queueForAllTheThings.jpg
- no more sitting for aaages in a queue wondering if you might have
got into something else much faster but there's no way of knowing
which LFR has shortest queues! Considering there's four relevant ones
right now (more if you're desperate for a weapon or somesuch from an
earlier one) then being able to queue for the lot at the start of a
week when you're saved to nothing will be great. I never expected them
to put in queueing for anything and everything all at once, but that's
even better for people who like everything!

Is that coming, or is out already? I multiple queue already for
dungeons and raids. When I first log on, esp as my mage, I queue for a
dungeon and raid of my choice, which ever I get picked for first, I
run.....and even though it says "paused" for the other one, as soon as I
get out of I don't lose my spot in line and I get in within a few
minutes of leaving the previous instance. Almost seems like it's not
paused at all, or that it's holding your place in line while you run the
other thing....Been doing that for a while.

However, you could only pick one dungeon, one raid and one scenario (if
you wanted to - instant anyway) - you could never pick multiple raids to
queue for. This would be interesting....

Ironically, it seems like they are backpedaling on or adjusting the
changes they forced when they released MoP, in that they didn't want
people hanging around the cities, but out in the world. I welcome it
in that I can run my stuff quicker, and get to some alts and other
things that I want to do. I actually started messing around with
battle pets for the first time as I have my main as far as I can take
her outside of non lfr raids, and all her gear is upgraded....just
maxing her valors for the next patch. I'm relaxed playing now, doing
what I want instead of feeling I *have* to do such-and-such to keep
up.... :)

5.4 PTR, I believe. I do vaguely recall that you can queue for more
than one different thing now you mention it, I've just never used that
so forgot it existed (I only really do LFR or scenarios of the
queueable things and scenarios not very often)

Yep, the multiple LFR wings is the big thing for me - I would LOVE to
be able to on a Wednesday just tick boxes for all 4 wings and let it
give me whatever pops first. Sure, by the time I'm down to the last
wing the queue will be as slow as ever, but when I'm queued for 4 at
once, chances are good that one should pop quickly!

Perhaps they're adding to it, regarding getting people out in the
world - I know a lot of people are happy to go out and do other stuff
while they queue, but I'm not; I saolo far better in Disc and heal far
better in Holy meaning if I'm queued I don't want to go anyplace that
I'll have to fight stuff. And I don't like breaking off from something
without finishing it, so more often than not, I don't queue until I'm
done with whatever I'm doing, and get bored sitting round doing
nothing while in the queue lol - faster queues will help loads there!

That's because you primarily queue and run stuff as a healer. On my
resto druid, I almost never use the mulit-queue ability due to fast
queues. On my mage, I use them all the time. It significantly reduces
the subsequent queues...

If it works like it currently does, the opposite will happen. You get
put in a place holder while you are running one. So lets say you queue
for all 4. Part 1: 5 min wait, part 4: 6min, part 2: 10 min and part
3: 15 min.

Again, if it works the way it does now the following happens, provided
the queue time don't change significantly:

after 5 min you get pulled into and run part 1. when you get out, you
go back into queue with the 5 min already credited to you, so if part 4
is still at 6 min, you only have a 1 min queue time. When you get out
of that, you have a 4 min queue time left for part 2, and then when done
a 5 min queue for part 3. That's of course if the times don't change.
If they grow shorter on any of them, you'll get an instant pop on the
next one (which HAS happened to me after exiting a dungeon while a raid
was on pause). If they get longer, you'll have to wait out the extra
time as you would have done anyway, but you'll have credit for time
served. Big time saver, esp for dps this way as you don't have to get
back at the start of the line every time.

I'm the same on my healer. I'm afraid to change to kitty and get
involved in anything after queuing as I never can trust exactly when
I'll get called up and hate to have the pressure of a 30 sec timer to
get into the instance, while I'm trying to survive a fight, then get
clear, change specs and gear as you never know if the tank is just going
to start running and not even check to see if your ready.... So I
usually just do my house keeping and AH stuff during that time.
Actually now that I'm playing around with battle pets, it seems a fun
thing to do while waiting that you can do standing in your heal spec. I
did however lose/forfeit a couple battles because the queue popped
during the pet battle...

Well, it's because I don't do the other things, so since you can't
currently queue for multiple LFRs, it's not an option for me,
regardless of what character I play ;-)

Have to say I expected it to work like the LFD/scenario system does
currently, where when you get into any one of the ones you queued for,
that's it, queue over, and you start from scratch again. It'll be
interesting if it works the way you say; that'd be even better tbh.
That said, I'd never do more than one at a time anyway, since I like a
break for recovery before going back into another run, so it won't
affect me.

I just like the idea of, using your queue times, I'd get into part 1
at the 5 mins wait, whereas currently I might have been queued for
part 3 instead, not being aware that part 1 had a faster queue! Seems
it'll improve things all round, whichever way it works :-)

Yeah, that puts me off pet battling too, I hate leaving halfway
through a fight so I'd end up cutting it fine and losing the queue no
doubt, otherwise pet battles would be ideal for filling the time! Love
pet battling but not while I'm queueing for stuff, so like you I
mainly do AH stuff but, I can't do my crafting easily, since having my
gem bag equipped means I don't have enough bagspace for loot, sigh...
yes, I *can* quickly run to the bank and swap before accepting, but I
invariably forget :-P

heh - ok, fair enough. I run dungeons as a quick way to get 80 valor
and cap myself for the week.

*IF* it works the that way, and *IF* it popped right after you got out
of one and you wanted a few minutes, there is no law that states you
have to go. :) You could always turn down, which *should* move the
next in line up, and then re-queue for the one you declined, which
*should* move it back to the end. (Notice my disclaimers with the
*if*s and *should*s - we will find out for sure later...lol)

You would give up the queue for a pet battle?! I guess if you were
trying for something special, then maybe. If your like me, your
leveling your first pets and your highest (as of last night was lvl
12).... I lose the fight, not the queue...heh..

I solo and scenario as ret, but do heroic dungeons and LFRs as Holy. When I'm queued for heroics, I also keep in Holy setup, since (as you say), they tend to start *very* quickly. However, in my experience LFRs generally start slower, as people buff and eat, so there's time to switch.

When queued for Scenarios and Heroics, I have to be geared as Ret and Holy respectively, but for LFRs I'll queue in Ret, doing dailies, farming, etc, and switch to Holy when the call comes, either in or out of the instance.

Your way makes sense, but, I really hate leaving things unfinished;
probably part of my Asperger syndrome (a form of autism), I can never
switch between things until I finish what I was doing first. Very
annoying when it's obviously logically better to do the second thing
and leave the first undone, but it stresses me out bigtime to leave
something hanging, so I try to arrange things so I don't have to do
that, if at all possible (which is why I don't do anything else while
queueing :-))
