If there is any person who knows how to use warcraft2 with only 4 megs 
of RAM your vast knowledge is needed.  I, the stupid one, would greatly 
 appreciate your help!

Had the exact same problem you did.  You need to go into your war2 
directory and type uvconfig <enter>.  You should see video ram   8 meg or 
something like that.  Simply click on the up arrow to change it to 4 meg, 
press ok, and everything should run fine.
