Strength beats Stamina for warrior tanking, due to the way
strength adds to your block value. Certainly don't avaoid
+Stamina, but do not pick it over +Strength for tanking.

You can buy a really nice shield, the Bear Buckler, from Kara in
Redridge, usuable at level 18.
