downloading zips???

How in the world do you d-load the zip files embedded in messages?
People keep posting PUDS and all I see is garbage when I click on the 
message?  Is there something I'm missing?  It has a beginning and end 
but just junk in the middle.  I'm using Netscape so if anyone can help 
please reply to this.
