All good examples. The ones that you missed that really annoy me: You have a group of assembled units waiting to be sent somewhere (as they mass for an attack for example). An enemy catapult trundles up an fires at your troops, killing half before they decide to react. Then half react, and attack the catapult, the others stand around looking stupid. (same happens with boats). This commonly leads to problem two. A group of your units attacks an advancing unit, by moving out to meet it. It gets scared, and runs away, back to the safety of it's base. Your units stupidly follow it, straight into guard towers and massed units, and promptly get destroyed. The most important thing to put into WC2 / 3 is the C&C style grouping commands, so that you can allocate groups to keys. It would make it practical to use mages. Currently it is impossible in a fight to select individual units and cast spells. It would also make it possible to coordinate your units (9 paladins in a group, 9 mages, 9 rangers, it would be very quick to send in waves of attackers).
