"Almost by definition, if you are going faster than the speed light
travels in our universe, then you are _not_ in our universe."

That's funny.... by definition..... the universe.... You're awfully sure
of yourself seeing how you haven't defined the universe yet. How exactly
would you know you weren't in the universe? How would you know you were?
What is the physical makeup of our universe? You see, it was easy to say
we couldn't break the sound barrier because it was in air. We know air.
We know what it's made of. Therefore, of course the numbers worked. We
knew what we were dealing with. Sound... AIR... pretty simple. NOW we've
got light... UNIVERSE... uh oh, there's a problem. We don't know how to
break the light barrier because we don't know what the universe is made
of. You have to know through what medium you're traveling in order to
establish a top speed. You're telling us that it's impossible. I say
it's impossible to know that right now. Figure out what the universe is
made of, do the math, and THEN come back and say it's impossible.
Otherwise, it's simply a belief, or theory
