Another point of view.

As we sit on our chair, we are accelerating toward the center of the
Earth at a rate of 9.8 m/s each second.  Since Force is proportional to
acceleration, the effect of this acceleration due to gravity is what we
call our weight.

I hope that this newsgroup thing is not too addicting since I still have
to work for a living.  But now that I have ventured this far...who can
tell...Eileen in Montana.
