You've been reading the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy again, haven't you? ;) The assumption one has to make in this case, if one wishes to remain sane, is that any theoretical time travel from the future to the past has already taken place in the past. If, in 2010, you go back in time to right now and assassinate somebody, that event will take place right now and it will be in the papers. Imagine several decades from now, when we finally discover that JFK's assassin was a time traveller from the "future". ;) This is one theory of time travel. Other theories state that any disruption in time causes a "split" in the dimension of probability, generating two or more separate universes, one for each outcome of the event. According to this theory, there are an infinite number of universes, each different from its neighbors by a single event somewhere in the course of time. If you were to go back in time, you would create a split in the flow of time: one universe where you did go back, and one where you didn't. This all, of course, is based on the supposition that time travel in reverse is really possible, which is yet to be proven. :) -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- | John M.
