I think it was John Gordon <gor...@panix.com> that wrote something like... >In <57daacd6...@News.Individual.NET> death...@yahoo.com.au (Ashen Shugar) writes: > >> originally, with the talent tree's defining your speck. True, but it used to work without them. It would just be a matter of whether Blizzard thinks people would complain about/at them for someone signing up as a tank in a build that hadn't taken any real tanking skills or whether people would just send death threats to the person that signed up without a satisfactory build. I quite liked how Path of Exile did their talent tree's. While in their case, it was one massive web for all classes, and the class you picked just specified where in it you started from, something similar could work for WoW. Each class would have their own "web", with 2 or more places you could choose to start from, and your spec would be determined by which place or area you chose to start from. But it probably would make it even harder to balance the various classes in any sort of fashion. Anyway, guess we'll see how things have progressed in another 5 years or so. :) Ashen Shugar -- The lions sing and the hills take flight. The moon by day, and the sun by night.
