Ahh, now that sucks, yes, your assumptions are all correct :-( You
could see the garrison, and the first zone, but that's about it, plus
of course if you did too much you'd then run the risk of struggling to
get enough quests to level up when you finally did buy the game.
That's a shame, I can kinda understand the point but still, it's not a
lot of use.
