Hehehe the area I grew up in, 90% of the year it's all brown, no green to be seen :-) Bit different to the rest of Britain, heather is about the only thing that grows there. Now I live 500-odd miles further south and it is so very different, rolling green hills, green as far as the eye can see! >I bet you just plant whatever you like and it grows, no having to select >an almost ,but not quite, pretty type of native saltbush that may survive. For most of Britain, extremely true, up in the Highlands, less so, my parents have a right headache trying to find plants which will survive in their garden. Rather exposed, very windy, salt in the air from the sea, a lot of plants hate it and die. Very different problem to your area, of course, but somewhat similar results (although there are some plants which grow well, it just takes a lot of trial and error to find them!) >the grass is always greener, so they tell me ...what is grass? :-) Hehehe :-D
