- well that's by far the best way to solve the problem of people
wanting to change faces with the new models, I just really did not
expect that! Had hoped for a few one-time only face changes, but
adding it to the barber shop is perfect, delighted to see that.

I think a lot of people will make use of this, some faces haven't
worked very well, while others are so much improved that people may
choose them who previously didn't (troll females all using the same
face come to mind - suddenly there's several good faces to choose
from)

PTR is up for anyone not in beta wanting to see their faces
(apparently not working right for EU but changing locale to US fixes
it, apparently), not sure if character copy works but you can get some
idea in character create at least. My take on models I've looked at a
lot so far, from good to bad:

UD male: love it, my main is easily recognisable, if I flip between
old/new models I can see differences, but it's close enough that I'm
very happy.

Draenei female: love it, feels a bit different but looks really good.

Dwarf male: massive hit with me, perhaps helps that so little of their
face is visible behind the beard that there's a lot less to go wrong
than many of the faces, but I love it. Must dust off my old dwarf
hunter and play him again!

Troll female: mostly like it, my hairstyle is a bit different though,
which changes the feel of the face - but the face itself is amazing,
love it. Also like some of the other faces too, so given I have three
troll females who all have the same face that 99% of troll females
use, I might actually try a different one!

Orc female: I've always hated these, and it's still not a race I'd
choose but they look far better than before, I actually quite like
them now!

Tauren male: absolutely nothing like my charatcer. However, he looks
very good in the new form, and given mine is a feral druid, I spend so
little time in caster form that it doesn't feel too wrong.

Human female: it's ok, but rather ditzy looking, eyes are wrong,
too... unsure on that so far.

Dwarf female, not sure yet, they went through a phase of the faces all
looking really ugly, I've always found some old-style faces actually
look nice, for all people say dwarves are ugly, I liked them! It's
improved a bit of late, but I'm still not a big fan...

Human male: argh. Yeah, he looks tons better than the old human males
but he is so not my character. This was my first main, so I'm a little
attached to him... it's the only one that's really upset me. My face
feels wrong, weird expression, animations are just plain creepy, hair
has gone from smooth to very messy... it's just not my character. Work
in progress, so there's still time to improve it, but given models
come out with 6.0, there's not *that* much time...

Gnome female: they've struggled bigtime getting this one right, early
versions looked truly awful, massive eyes and creepy huge smile, they
went from cute to scary. Eyes have been toned down of late but they
slightly overdid fixing the smile and now they all look sulky
instead... I'm very glad I never actually got around to making a
female gnome, much as I love the old ones, I'd be heartbroken by the
new models.
