The Keeper Of The Funds has declared that I can buy myself a personal
laptop, up to around $1k.

There's been some pretty technical discussion of gaming machine builds
here in the past, so I thought I'd throw the question out:

What stats should I be looking for, in a laptop?

This will almost certainly be a Win 7 box, though I wouldn't mind
being able to put Linux on a separate partition for dual-boot.

I'm not asking for specific models (though I won't ignore
suggestions). What I want to know is what features I should be
checking for - speed, processor, RAM, graphics adapter, etc.

Right now, I'm running on a homebrew desktop, Pentium Dual-Core E6300,
2.8 GHz, 3GB RAM.
As a graphics adapter, I'm using a NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS. Even in
crowded areas, like pre-Cata Dalaran, I get 30-40 fps, which is
plenty. I tend to run with default graphics setting, though particle
effects (ie, spells) is maxed. I have a 22 inch screen, 1680x1050.

I'd like to at least match the performance of the above rig, though I
realize the screen will be smaller.

Any suggestions?
