I believe that if you do a "report spam" instead of "ignore", it ignores
that person's entire account, so he couldn't message you again on a new
character.  However it is temporary, and you lose the ignore setting
when you log out.

You could also get a customizable ignore addon and set it to ignore
anything from, say, characters below level five.

I thought trial accounts were already prevented from doing those things?
Sending whispers, sending mail, using trade chat, etc.
