It definitely shouldn't do it on Passive. Mine does all the time on defensive, if it's a pet which does any kind of aoe debuff (bears roar, foxes have that tailspin ability, etc), and a critter is within the aoe, said critter gets scared and runs off, pet remembers it's in combat with the critter and runs after it once mob is dead, and usually brings me a few friends back, sigh. Needless to say my pets are on passive in instances! But for questing I prefer defensive so get to enjoy the critter chasing a lot lol. >> pulling mobs randomly across the room. Hehe I heard all about huntards before levelling my first hunter alt in vanilla, and was very very careful to try to avoid being one myself! Can't say I was ever brilliant at it but my pet was always very carefully under control, I always had enough ammo, and I knew how to use traps (couldn't do neat tricks like trapping 2 mobs at the same time, but could keep a mob out of the way for a few minutes anyway). Some pug hunters I've met though, omg. Loved the one I had when I was supposed to be tanking, whos pet would run off and pull extra packs all the time, who liked to pull himself even when the pet was under control, and who claimed he did better damage meleeing than shooting, sigh. Being fair, he probably *did* do better melee damage than ranged, since when I armoried him he had a throwing knife equipped!! -- EU-Draenor: Sagart (85 Undead Priest) Tairbh (85 Tauren Druid) Buinne (81 Troll Shaman) Balgair (80 Human Rogue) Ruire (80 Blood Elf Paladin)
