Warriors admittedly did always have something usable at low lvls (albeit heroic strike was their original basic move, which converted an auto attack into a yellow one, so losing a rage-giving white attack, which was *not* intuitive to a newbie, I never did figure why my first attempt at a warrior always had NO rage until I learned my bear some time later and spotted the link between HS and Maul), but now paladins and I think shamans both got short cd melee abilities to use from the start too - paladins used to only get a seal and auto attack the first few levels, which was absolute torture frankly, while shamans, um... you're a caster no matter your intentions at low lvls, was the previous thinking, cast spells and auto attack :-P >> >- Charge is only available out of combat and in Battle Stance. I hadn't realised switching stances kills rage. Yep, now it *may* keep some of it since I've not kept up with things, it used to set you to 0 rage unless you had a particular talent which let you keep some. There may be a little that remains now, but you'll certainly lose most your rage. >> At a higher lvl, there should be a talent that lets you charge in >> combat and in any stance, but you're probably a way off that one atm >> (it was lvl 50 pre-4.0, no idea what it is now) > >It's available at level 29 now (Warbringer, I think) and I'm very much >looking forward to that! Ah, of course, I keep forgetting they changed the levels on everything, and all the buffs come in later than they used to! Looks like you'll get Battle Shout at lvl 20, that'll give you some minor threat on all mobs if you use it on a pull, not a lot, but even a little will just get them on you first and not the healer if there's a hot running or similar. >> Likewise I'll often faerie fire and then enrage on my bear, gain both >> rage and treat this way. > >Yupp, that is also my standard druid pulling pattern and while I have a >thrown weapon to replace fairy fire, I was missing the enrage. It seems the >shouts will take that place when I get it. Looks like it, I was going to say there used to be a skill that generated rage at cost of health, which was my old equivalent to enrage, but I think that got removed, and replaced with the generating rage from shouts method. -- EU-Draenor: Sagart (85 Undead Priest) Tairbh (85 Tauren Druid) Buinne (81 Troll Shaman) Balgair (80 Human Rogue) Ruire (80 Blood Elf Paladin)
