Just gave the place a shot with my bf, and was surprised how possible it was! Me on bear druid, him on 84 hunter most the time, tabbing to his 85 priest when heals were needed. First waves of trash, no issue really, abominations are a bit painful (stun, stun, stun) but no real danger of dying so long as my bf kept awake and nuked them down first, and healed me when needed (I fast got in the habit of hitting Barkskin on cd). Having never seen the place in my life, I hadn't realised we'd get no break before the boss to check strategies so, oh well, here goes! No clue what we were doing, but pretty selfexplanatory, once I realised the death and decay has a rather wider radius than the graphic suggests, and it's wise to start moving quickly (ouch!), he died pretty quickly (so did our unused alts lol) Next batch of waves, no problem, next boss, likewise, no problem, was easy to pick up the infernals and tank them, generally I'd burn one down when I had about 3 of them on me. After this, talked to Jaina again, thought, nice, she's casting a mass teleport for us, then realised actually it wasn't for us, bah. Didn't know there was a huge wave of mobs coming till we were in combat, and didn't realise how many there were till I'd gone bear and picked them up, and thought "omg we're gonna die". Somehow, we didn't! Seems my bf is a pretty good healer ;-) 500 rep in a couple of minutes mass tanking/aoeing, thanks! Next area was more annoying, since trash waves spawn all over the place and rarely all come to me, so spend some time chasing them, although it doesn't matter that much with the NPCs anyway. Didn't like the flying mobs (word of warning - don't try this if you only have melee in your group, unless you want to spend a long time helping the NPCs kill the frostwyrms, the gargoyles at least could usually be hit by my swipe and thrash), but it was all more annoying than tough. First boss here is pretty much tank and spank, very easy one! 2nd boss, not so easy with the doom debuff killing everyone other than the tank, thankfully my bf lasted long enough to get him down to "only" 1 million health, and Thrall survived to help me, since I struggle to do big dps on my druid (only got quest reward gear), plus the rain of fire tended to hurt a lot, but still, worked well enough in the end, phew. Much surprised at how easily we'd got this far, we reached Archimonde (having decided to run away from the previous area before the huge wave of mobs arrived this time!) Checked up some tactics and it seemed simple enough, don't stand in fire, and do use the tears item Tyrande gives you when you get hit in the air (being the tank this wasn't a concern for me, phew!). We rapidly discovered there's really no point me decursing the shadow dot, since he'll reapply it fast while usually whacking me for 9-10k before I get back into bear, sigh. So my bf switched to his healer, since we were both taking a ton of dmg (all very well not standing in fire but it's hard when you're feared). We were getting it back under control, when I got feared too near the Well (having failed to take in that part of the tactics lol) and bam, we got oneshotted. Oops. 2nd try, we just started with my bf on healer, and it went much smoother, however damage output was a concern, with the 10 mins enrage timer. DBM was telling me 5 mins to go when we were at about 60%, 2 mins to go when we were passing 35%... hmm. Counting down the last few seconds, it was getting really close to the magic 10% mark where you get a damage immunity buff, but not quite close enough... he enraged, oneshotted my bf, I realised I was still alive on about half health, and hitting a few cooldowns might keep me alive long enough to tip me over the edge... a few seconds of panicked button bashing later, I suddenly realise I'm still alive and he's below 10%, and a load of friendly wisps have appeared..! Still can't believe we made it, we were *so* close to a wipe, but we did it, very very satisfying to be able to complete it with just two of us like that! I honestly didn't expect that to be possible, we're both very lowgeared but seems we had just enough :-) 8.3k rep from the run, would've been more like 7.8k without accidentally clearing the wave we were supposed to not kill after the 2nd boss, but still, 4-5 more weeks should do it, if I can convince my bf to hold his interest long enough (big if, he likes trying stuff once, but not repeating it!) -- EU-Draenor: Sagart (85 Undead Priest) Tairbh (85 Tauren Druid) Buinne (81 Troll Shaman) Balgair (80 Human Rogue) Ruire (80 Blood Elf Paladin)
