WoW gold isn't like real money. WoW characters don't have day-to-day costs they incur when they're not playing. Nor do they have to put gold aside for taxes, a rainy day, for sickness, retirement, or to send their kids to college. Almost every activity a toon engages in produces some income. With even a very mild effort, a toon can earn more money than they can spend, and it piles up. My main earns over 1000g most days, and I am not a major AH junkie. I wouldn't even consider getting Vial of the Sands otherwise - its currently the most flagrant of vanity purchases. I already have the vendor mammoth, I have the Gigantique bag. But what else should I use the money for? I can equip my alts with full heirloom sets, and still have gold left over. The 'don't spend more than half' rule is overkill, and I know it. pt
