I just got Warhammer "shadow of the horned rat", it only works in
windows 95. I had all of my win95 sounds replaced with warcraft 2
sounds, and when I was playing warhammer, I heard some warcraft 2
sounds, I thought that it was just a windows 95 error sound, but when I
checked all of the .WAV files on the warhammer CD, I found some
warcraft 2 sounds(on the warhammer CD!!!). there were also many sounds
that were similar to the ones in WC2, but I found a couple that were
exactly the same! the warcraft 2 dragon sound is on the warhammer CD,
you can find it as: D:\warfb\file\binary\sound\special\roar03.wav , it
is the exact same sound, I compaired both of them. I also found the WC2
sheep sound on the warhammer CD, and alot of the sounds sound similar to
warcraft 2 ones, but with different voices and poorer sound quality.
the sign t egghead said that warhammer supports 8 plyers on a network,
but there is nothing mentioned about it in any of the help files or box,
it wasn't even in the manual, and there are no in game options for any
sort of multiplayer. oh well, someone at egghead is either real stupid
or they must have mistaken it for warcraft 2 because they both have the
same sound effects. I wonder if that is illegal(to use someone elses
sound effects)?
BTW, Warcraft 2's graphics kick warhammers butt!
