Unreal 2004 Demo freezes

Hi,

the UT 2004 demo freezes after some time in battle (it can take from a
couple of seconds up to 1-2 minutes). It freezes during "normal gameplay", I
see no connection to a special event in the gameplay. The game freezes, a
short sound-loop remains, no task-manager working, got to make a
hardware-reset...

Now, I really like the game, but of course I'd like to avoid buying it and
then see it freeze again. So, does anyone know if that is a known problem of
the demo (and is there a way to fix it?) or is it likely the game simply has
a problem with my PC and the full version will have too...?

Any help appeciated,
Paul

Can you post any error screen, or does it just simply hang?

Sounds like a video driver issue. Have you reloaded your drivers lately?

This sounds like a sound driver issue. Check for later driver versions
for your sound card/chip. This 'hard locked sound loop' has turned out
to be the sound drivers some 90% of the time over the years for many
games, including Half-Life 2 :)
