Hi,

I'm new to UT, but am having a great time playing online, which has
left me with some questions I hope you can shed some light on. (I am
using the original UT)

1. One time I played there was one VERY good player, and a bunch of us
others. I would consistenly come second in the rankings as we rotated
around the maps. However, on one map I saw the good player teleporting
out of bad situations. I didn't see any other player teleporting, and I
search the whole map for some kind of 'device'. So my question is
'What's going on here?? Did I just miss the teleport device in the
thick of the actions? Is s/he cheating? Something else?'

2. Playing Instagib CTF is really enjoyable, however I think I'm
missing the signal system. Sometimes my teammates fire at me (not
reflex, deliberate), and then fire in another directions. Is this some
kind of instructions? Any help would be appreciated.

3. Because I am in the land of OZ, or some other reason, I very rarely
get a Ping less than 300 (occasionally 250), and there are often
players on there with a ping of 50-60. If they are a good player, then
I just cannot beat the 5-1 speed advantage. I fare much better on
standard weapon servers, but I would really like some Instagib tactics
for tilting the advantage back in my favour. Any suggestions?

one of your basic weapons is a teleporter, scrol backwards through your 
weapons to find it, one button shoots out the teleport device, and the 
alternate fire , teleports you to whereever you shot your teleport 
device.

find local servers!
i assume your using broadband or better, If your using 56k ish dialup, 
your just screwed id say
