I get the message (bad translation from Dutch) "config.nt. This systeemfile
is not suitable for MS-Dos en Microsoft applications"

Can anyody help me??

I use them, they make Unreal look awesome, but not every texture is
available in high res. I advise you to keep a backup of your original
textures: if there is an incompatibility with a specific texture, just copy
the original version back.

You don't need a patch to install it, but i recommend to patch it to v 226  
when you installed it. The patch should be called 226final.exe or like  
that (just google for it). Unreal is much more stable in v226 on XP.

Another thing, once you get the program installed, Right Click on the
shortcut and set the compatibility to windows 95/98
www.oldunreal.com is still there :)
