I am trying to use the voice recognition software I already have,
Dragon Naturally Speaking and tie it into Unreal or AAO.

So I can stop dieing when I'm typing.

I know how to code in VB and have VS6.

I don't have a clue about the Unreal engine.

Does anybody know where or have any APIs for unreal engine.

Any help appreciated.

Doesn't NDS have some feature that sends text to an application as through
sent through the keyboard, similar to te VB sendkeys command? Cant you just
use that?

Would that work in another game? For example can this be done in
Quake3 or Counter-Strike for example?

In theory, through you would still need to press the talk button first and
enter when done. However, voice recognition uses a huge amount of
proocessing power and memory. So do games. Runing them both at once could be
quite a strain.

I have used ViaVoice before, and it works ok providing you have a very good
microphone. You should just need to set it to send all text to the
application that has focus, which will be the game. Its needs a lot of
training to give accurate recognition.

With the game 'Sub Command' I got the MSSpeech Engine.
It's used to control your sub in the game by voice.
I don't have a mike, so I don't know if/how it works.

If you have a very big mailbox (or another storage) I can send it (50Megs), no
guarantees made :)
