I'm sure this is a stupid question, but how do I get out of the water
god level?  I've tried shooting and walking into all the bumps on the
wall and everything, but I can't open the trapdoor in the pool, nor can
I open the wooden grate below the glowing yellow face sculpture.  The
translator some blurb about breaking or releasing wood or something just
before I enter the level, but I can't make head nor tails of this
level...

Any suggestions???

shoot the chains holding the platform under water. itll rise up.
jump to press lever hanging down to open grate in tunnel floor.
