This is a very good and sound approach. There are almost only advantages to this "tactic". Other advantages other than those you mention is that when you buy the games, you often get a stable, fixed version, and not version 1.0 which always hits the shelves too early (rushed for the holidays and what not) and therefore is buggy and messy. These bugs are then later fixed, and the people who bought the game early are forced to upgrade several times over the net. Whereas you pick up a clean, stable version 1.21 (or whatever) 1½ years later for $9.99... ;-D And it's not like you just sit around and *wait* for that time to go buy, because you're quite busy playing titles now that were released some time ago. :-) I've also seen games and their major add-ons/mods being thrown into one package for a low-low price (Take Half-life,CS and Blue Shift in one pack, for example, for roughly $15!). Kick-ass. The only downside, as I see it, is that the online communities might have "moved on" by the time you start playing the game. OTOH, there are still a lot of people who play for example DooM and Quake online, so that risk is perhaps slim, other than for non-quality titles? You at least get to play very devoted (read "fanatic") people! :-D My $0.02, -- Kristian Ronge |zuc...@bigfoot.com|d99...@nada.kth.se d99, Computer Science, Royal Institute of Technology "One short sleep past, we wake eternally, and Death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die." -- John Donne
