Hi folks, I'm thinking of picking up UT but will it support D3D or Open Gl?
I have a non-3dfx card. Thanks for the info.

You'd better wait for the final release - but especially D3D should be OK
(it's fairly well in Unreal at the moment)

Besides, if they don't make decent D3D and OpenGL support in this game, Epic
will lose the race for sure IMO ... although it will probably run at its
best on a Voodoo card anyway.

Yep, with the way D3D is now it's looking good for non 3dfx owners.

Thanks Guys! From what I've read, i'm really excited about this game and
it's coming out sooner than Q3 and TF2. I was thinking about waiting for
Q3 but the team games are not available in single player mode so the
scales have tipped towards UT. Hopefully the D3D support will be excellent.

Thanks again.

How do you mean about team games not available in single player ? Both games
will have teamplay-capable bots to play against.

How do you figure that? The only time I've heard of ogl running
faster than d3d in Unreal was on NT systems where, of course, they
can't run d3d anyway but the ogl performance is comparably impressive.
What video card are you using?

I also prefer ogl over d3d.

Does that mean Unreal runs great in Open GL?

Thanks.

If I remember correctly, Computer Gaming World stated that the only
Single Player Mode in Q3 would be DeathMatch against bots. You probably
could
team up with a human to play *against* bots, but not with them. As I
understand, Unreal let's you team up with the bots to play CTF,
Assault, Etc. without having to go online or LAN with a human.

PLease correct me if i'm wrong. Thanks.

Hmmm... well that doesn't make sense, the bots for Quake 2 now will play
both with or against you in both DM in CTF. If id software can't do what
some amateur programmers have done... then again, they have been having
problems with their bots, or so I hear.
