It was pencilled in for release tomorrow here in UK, but as usual it has
been put back, until "sometime in October".(EB, Game and H.M.V)
Where do these release dates originate ? Is it the manufactures or the
retailers who start the rumours ? It can't be to create more demand, as
everyone who wants Unreal Tournament will buy it whenever it comes out.
There must be some reason for it but that doesn't change the fact that is
pissing people off big time !!

I don't know why in the hell people are getting pissed off about dates being
pushed back, NO date has been givin by Epic yet on the release for UT. All
the dates you've been seeing are more then likely just guesses.

Are you talking about the game itself or the demo ? The game hasn't even
gone gold yet so we yanks won't get it either. The Glide-only test demo
"should" be released some time this week, with the "real" version that
support D3D & OpenGL early next.

Popular consensus perhaps? I know the dates don't come out of Epic
for UT and I doubt GT would be flaunting around release dates, they
can't without Epic's guideline and Epic never knows when they are to
release things, there's always a bug that gets in the way.

Lets face it, they can;t win - we've all seen this so many times before with
any game which has a huge following. If they release it early and its full
of bugs we whinge like hell when we have to download 5 patches to get the
thing working, but if they hold of and get it right, we complain because we
want to play it NOW!

I still don't know why games designers can't set release dates and stick to
them though....

Cheers,

Mike.
