Start quote: "Unreal Tournament Demo Weapons Revealed 13 September - PC Zone -- Just the mention of Unreal Tournament is enough to set even the strongest gamer drooling, so what chance have we got when the weapons that will appear in the demo are announced? Mercy! In a recent post to the official GT Unreal Tournament forum, Epic's very own CliffyB gave us some insight - and we're talking some serious kit here. The Rocket Launcher (1) will be there for your blasting pleasure, and for sheer fun, what could beat the Pulse Gun (2). You'll also be happy to discover the presence of the Shock rifle (3), the Mini Gun (4), the Impact Hammer (5), the Enforcer/Dual Enforcers (6) and last, but by no means least, the Translocator (7). Seven weapons - now that's a demo. Feel free to indulge in some maniacal laughter at this point" So .. no Unreal weapons I see :-( Please tell me I can't read right. End transmission. -Checker (Co30)

Many of the weapons are simply modified Unreal weapons with new skins (which many won't like). The Rocket Launcher is a modified eightball, the Pulse Gun is new to UT (and very cool), the Shock Rifle is a modified ASMD, the Mini-Gun is the same as Unreal's minigun except it fires faster iirc and thus is very deadly, the Impact Hammer is a modified Flak Cannon, the Enforcer is simply the same as the Automag, the Dual Enforcer is awesome and is two automags (some Unreal mods have this), the Translocator is not a weapon but a tool. Ah but the Translocator *can* be used as a weapon .. fire it at the person and he/she/it catches it then you teleport to kill them :) Also, the weapons are not just re-skined, all are new models with higher res skins (not to mention the digital readouts hehe). Impact hammer is brand new not a worked over flak cannon. -- <<The Beany Dog Clan>> ICQ# 36011198 Justin <aragorn@ihug.co.nz.remove> wrote in message news:37dd7459.820469@news.akl.ihug.co.nz... > On Mon, 13 Sep 1999 21:52:42 +0200, "Checker (Co30)" > <b.f...@cable.a2000.nl> wrote: > > >In a recent post to the official GT Unreal Tournament forum, Epic's very own > >CliffyB gave us some insight - and we're talking some serious kit here. I agree, you shouldnt piss around with a weapon as good as the flak cannon. Still, Im hoping the tooth fairy will implement the Qaud shot, it looked cool, even if it didnt work! hehehe .. first post here. I think I am doing fine :-) But seriouse, why all the new names ? One of the best things in Unreal where ..ARG ARE the weapons. I read a review for Unreal, and the man said the weapons where bad because you needed to learn how to use them, and that is still one of the most fun parts of the game. Combine the weapons with tactics, use the weapons to benifet the tactic, etc. So much variation. I tried Q3 test, and I constantly pushed the secundariy fire button, and missed it. Why the hell change an originall game ... for commerce reasons ? -Checker (Co30) Checker (Co30) wrote in message >Start quote: >"Unreal Tournament Demo Weapons Revealed > > 13 September - PC Zone -- Just the mention of Unreal Tournament is enough >to set even the strongest gamer drooling, so what chance have we got when >the weapons that will appear in the demo are announced? Yeah, I know that the ingame browser and stat net are flawed but unfortunately this is somewhat more major in that it affects all games :-(.
