Beyond Unreal was able to snag a handful of Epic's UT3 developers for
an IRC chat last night. For those interested, a chat log can be
viewed here:

Thanks for the link. I'd have missed that. The after discussion is almost as
good as the irc chat.

You're quite welcome.

I'm ready for the demo. I'm guessing 10/18. Any other guesses?

Crysis demo dropped so I'm guessing they feel the heat from the competition.
Last third of October, maybe 26th for my guess.

Im more than ready.

I've had the game on pre order since july 06 so it had better be good.

Any one played the qauke wars enemy territory demo???

I played it and cancelled my game order.

It was far to much like Battlefield 2142

Well, new news since I posted that. Midway released a financial
update yesterday in the form of a press release. Here's the relevant
section:

**************************************************************************************
CHICAGO, Illinois, October 2, 2007 – Midway Games Inc. (NYSE: MWY)
today announced revised estimates for the Company's third quarter
ended September 30, 2007, and fiscal year ending December 31, 2007.
The changes are primarily to reflect Midway's decision to release
Stranglehold for the PLAYSTATION® 3 computer entertainment system in
the fourth quarter rather than the third quarter, the expected
movement of Unreal Tournament 3 for the PLAYSTATION 3 system into the
first quarter of fiscal 2008, and lower expected sales of BlackSite:
Area 51 primarily due to the adverse impact of the split shipment
between the Xbox 360 and the PLAYSTATION 3 system, with the European
version of BlackSite: Area 51 for the PLAYSTATION 3 system shifting
into the first quarter of 2008.

**************************************************************************************

They reiterated that the PC version is still on track, but who really
knows?

Mark Rein's take on the situation can be seen here:

Know the feeling - not that I preordered this time. I'm still undecided
as if I'm to get the PC and/or the PS3 version plus also it seems
getting the bonus edition in Europe may be a problem.

I tried mistakenly thinking it was a Quake game and not some CS style
thing. Somehow I much prefer games where it's fragging and not killing -
could be I am getting old.

I guess you're right it's closer to that than to CS.

Kind regards

Just saw the systems specs released on Voodoo Extreme
-------
     Minimum System Requirements

   # Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista
   # 2.0+ GHZ Single Core Processor
   # 512 Mbytes of System RAM
   # NVIDIA 6200+ or ATI Radeon 9600+ Video Card
   # 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space

     Recommended System Requirements

   # 2.4+ GHZ Dual Core Processor
   # 1 GBytes of System RAM
   # NVIDIA 7800GTX+ or ATI x1300+ Video Card
   # 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space
---------
Looks like I may be okay for hardware to run the PC version (3 Ghz P4HT,
2 GB ram and a 1900XTX card) so that is the preferred one.

It is great times to be a gamer when just looking at the list of coming
games I must say :-)

Kind regards
Bruno

I downloaded the full version to try it and I quickly became quite fond of
it. It is very similar to BF2142, but with more simplicity to make it easier
to play. It is pretty harsh on system demands though, so better have a
decent or better setup to play.
