Well, I don't think it's a performance issue since swapping my LCD out for a CRT fixes everything. I don't quite recall what hardware I was using when I quit playing UT99, but I do know that my framerates were locked at 100fps which was the refresh rate of my CRT. It could very well be that my LCD just isn't up to snuff. It's a Dell 1905FP circa Jan of '05. It was hot stuff back then, but it's a PVA panel and it's response time would probably be considered very slow by today's standards. Maybe it's time for an upgrade. One question though... I thought that turning off vsync might help, but that caused UT to run *way* too fast... just like it did before putting the CPU speed in the shortcut. Does yours do that too? If not, then maybe I do need a bit of tweaking. I'm currently running Chris Donal's (http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/) OGL renderer. I've tried D3D too but no joy. And oh by the way... back in the day Chris's renderer made the game look really good. Now, there are various texture issues during gameplay. Maybe my config is crap.
