"Todd" <noone@nowhere.com> wrote in message news:tt6sg4dg9trbqsm0jil7ffu4dhbusultar@4ax.com... | Yeah, I see on my computer at my apartment, that 2k4 is still being | played. And I see how it responds when there's a firewall problem. I | couldn't get a refresh, for some reason though. Could have been this | crappy firewall, though. I'm still pissed that ZoneAlarm got bought | up and is only a commercial product now. Although, it didn't work | with my parents' dsl for some reason. | There is a web site http://www.321download.com/LastFreeware/index.html that provides the "last free version" of lots of software that went "commercial/pay-only". I found it a while back and snagged some good stuff. I particularly liked a calculator with a scroll-history feature named "Showcalc" (works like the old paper tapes) which is very useful when balancing a checkbook and you've made some stupid key-entry error 50 lines back and you're trying to figure out where it happened. Maybe you can find a firewall there that you like, or maybe an old zonealarm, haven't looked for that, but did see Tiny Personal Firewall free edition was downloadable. Since I run win2k on my internet connection sharing machines, TPF is perfect for my needs, been using it now for 5 or 6 years. -- Best regards, Kyle
