UTDC 2.0c pretty much stops most things. I only know of one aimbotter
who's got past that. When we installed it we caught a lot of players who
are now quite effectively excluded.

Sadly, that's no longer true. There was a time when it was - when CSHP
and Pure were being deliberately targetting, but their days as useful
anticheat are long gone.

There's still quite a few players if you look. The upsurge we had when
UT3 came out was noticable on ut99, and when Steam started selling UT99
for about six dollars we saw another surge. We generally get 70-100
players a night on the multiplay ut99 servers. We peaked a few months
ago at 130 or so. I still play every day and find good clean games.

Ut99 ain't dead yet!
