Well, it looks _OK_, but more in a Thief 3 kind of way, rather than a Thief 
Gold kind of way.

So it looks like the lockpicking is going to be more similar to T3 than T2? 
Also I didn't catch wind of it on the demo, but are they bringing back the 
rope arrows and will you be able to go underwater?

There's rope arrows at 10:10.

There's rope arrows at 10:10.

    If there are two things that should never be in a Thief game, it's 
'blink' and 'The Outsider':  the first is a cheat button, and the second has 
no background or mythology of any sort, and was plainly pulled out of some 
I-Got-Nothin dev's ass.  The presence of a rope arrow signifies to me 
they'll attempt to keep the character fairly grounded, hallalujah.  I saw no 
sign of magic in the video clip, but how much steampunk-ish technology there 
will be remains to be seen I guess.

    There are critical articles like

complaining e.g. of the AI, but it's good to air criticisms and point out 
flaws now, as there's time for the developers to address them.
