help please with the nightwatch

my dad's playing this so the question is second hand mission 2 of the nightwatch, Elicitation trying to get a bottle of anointing oil, can get the scroll and the potions but not the purse or the oil, he says he can't frob the oil but needs it for something happening later any tips please thanks

Has he tried leaning forward? That's mapped to "w" in my key bindings. Yes, he must have the oil to finish the mission. There is a walkthrough here, btw: http://www.filecrunch.com/file/~jab7g3
