Hello I am trying now for three days in a row to find this incriminating
evidence against the mage but I can't seem to find it. I K.O.ed all the
guards and I have no means of opening the door in the greenery I am
stuck.....

Could someone help me out here?

I had the same problem myself. The key is located on the left hand side of
the bed located sort of at the top of some stairs. I wish it would have been
placed in a more logical place; I must have searched the entire mansion
before I found it!
