The Three Missions expounded apon in this particular lumbering
waltz-limp are as follows:
Snatch And Grab - Old Comrades, Old Debts - Lord Alan's Basement
(again in three parts for easy consumption)
1 -> Snatch And Grab ((Retyped FROM MEMORY because of power outage!))
By Apache & Ernie ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ <ouch!> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Quick Cut:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My first misimpressions of Apache's work were pleasantly shattered
by The Autionhouse and even more pleasantly - completely blown away
by this mission.
Apache shows his stuff in what he refers to as a 'mimi-mission'
but it is far more rich and complete for it's (file) size than many
I've played. - A City - The Underground - The City again - all very
well rendered and connected in one map with some suprising and re-
warding twists and turns, and including some creative innovations.
The Long Haul:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are neatly deposited into a very nice city environment with
all the necessary details to create a real world picture - some of
them very well executed - and with clear objectives. - But, wait!
SO many guards covering the front of one sprawling structure? -
There is certainly an easier way in. Well, being the contrary ass
that I am - I chose a different route than the one offered, and
lured all the guards into the shadows to be dispatched one-by-one.
- And I'm very glad I chose that route because I was rewarded by
Apache's generous construction which allows relatively easy access
to ALL the rooftops with sweeping views of this well accented city
environment. - THANK you Apache! :]
The path takes an abrupt turn which leads you into explorations
underground. - This is where the mood changes into a colorful and
intriguing setting - leading you to use unique objects in inventive
ways - A tasty spice to the broth that may well have you taking re-
peated sips to appreciate it's unusual flavour - and that will lead
you eventually back to the surface where the mission takes yet another
unexpected twist - one that is both rewarding and satisfying for the
player. - Coming full circle to create the impression of a wholly
complete experience.
Summation:
~~~~~~~~~~
"Mini-mission" is an appalling understatement - but I believe it was
Apache's intention to suprise - and suprise he DOES - in this finely
crafted and creative map that is most generously rewarding for the
player.
Apache is currently working on a much larger map, and I am most
appreciatively anticipating it's release - If this map is any in-
dicator I have no doubts that it will be an absolute stunner. !8]
