?A note from the upcoming Game Developers Conference in March: http://www.gdconf.com/news/gdc/gdc_2011_adds_battlefield_3_fa.html "- In 'Stealing Sound: Generative Music in Thief', Eidos Montreal's Paul Weir will make the first public presentation regarding the upcoming fourth iteration in the noted stealth franchise, based around the fact that "innovative audio has been at the heart of the original Thief titles". Weir explains: "This talk will argue for the benefits of using generative music in games... I will show our custom generative system (GRAMPS), demonstrate its key design features and suggest some best practice techniques". Weir intends to show "how using a single person as the composer, sound designer and audio director on a AAA title can help create a unified sound field."
