Well, the 5 things that people have problems with are:

Windows NT incompatibility (use W95 compatibility mode)
nVidia video card black screen (get a patched thief executable)
Hyperthreading/SMP/Dual Cores (set affinity with imagecfg.exe)
Regular copy protection (get the nocd crack from Komag)
Movie codecs unregistering (reregister with bat file or use DL4.2)

So start fresh, rule out each one, don't make assumptions about what you
THINK worked before but instead just double check each step.
