Many people who play Thief seem to have developed their own styles of
playing. I'm sure you're aware of Ghosting levels and of the "Lytha" style
gameplay. I like to ghost mission every now and then. The most
challenging, and the most enjoyable, ghosting experience so far was the
brilliant "Art of Thievery." It still remains one of my all-time favorite
FMs.

My normal playing style just involves using as few equipment as possible.
My tools of trade are the blackjack (it gives an odd satisfaction to clunk
the unsuspecting guards on the noggin ;)), the lockpicks, of course, and
rope arrows, and that's pretty much all that I use. I always carry a few
water arrows with me, but very rarely use them. As for the other
equipment - flash bombs, mines, gas arrows, fire arrows, moss arrows,
potions etc. - I could say I almost never use them other than out of
curiosity, and then revert back to a previous save. Sometimes a mission
requires you to use other equipment, such as water and fire arrows (as
triggers for something or other), breath potions maybe, but that's
different.
