So you just want clues?  That's a little tricky.  I'll give you an idea of
what area to look in and if that's not specific enough, then you can let me
know if you want exact locations.(Some items count partly as gold and partly
as gems, by the way).

Search the graveyard outside very carefully.
Close to some spiders.
Look for a secret in the basement rooms.
Look in the Church.

Those are the ones that are easiest to miss. :-)
