I hear the Aussie version allows region changing - so I guess I may be returning it and getting the working one. I know one thing - I'm definitely not paying for 2 different copies :) I have a guest pass though which I can use on EU servers for up to 7 hours.

I heard they were "working on implementing cross region play". Of course, they said the same about World of Warcraft 6 years ago, and that sure didn't happen. But we'll see. I heard the Australians have to play on Asian servers. (lol). I'll probably shell out the dough for a US version in a month or two, if they still haven't enabled cross region play. Can't affort it right now though, I'm going to Prague in a few weeks.

I would almost imagine cross-region play might eventually hinge upon partnering up with people via RealID, but, well, what do I actually know about Battle.net architecture.

I'm pretty sure it's not cross-region. If it was, that would be a pretty easy workaround and people would not be this pissed off. I'll try later today.
