bj...@io.com (Brad Julsonnet) caused this to appear in our collective minds on Tue, 24 Feb 1998 23:14:30 -0600:

>> Only the middle Americans, those with money move them to the security of
>> Swiss and away from the IRS.

Intriguing... but as was said, you watch too much television. There are many
international holders who do not habituate the mountains of Switzerland.

>> They may be assembled at those plants, but the boards are produced in the
>> Orient. Take a closer look next time.

That depends on the company.

>> Is that why you cry foul and put in place import taxes. From Canada it is
>> not products but resources you want. From Mexico, you are afraid of cheap
>> labor.

Excuse me, but are you -- a Canadian -- really accusing the United States of
leeching off your country? Besides the fact that our presence saved
Canada from destruction during the resurgence of colonialism, and that Canada
is still incapable of holding itself together despite, Canada is practically a very large
economic protectorate of the United States, albeit one that hates it with a passion.

Additonally, those who fear cheap labor are but poor laborers themselves. You
do enjoy your stereotypes, do you not, Willy? One set of lobbyists complains
about something, and every foreign country believes that thing has become the
primary concern of all America. Truly, if you are unwilling to learn of American
politics, do not pay them any heed whatsoever -- it would do you good.

> Tell me,what resources do we actually need from you guys?We don't need
>cheap labor. In our world today we need skilled workers unlike you ;-)

That's a cheap shot.

>> Why didn't you last time, you only did half a job. Sadam is still there.
>> BTW, I am a Scotsman from Canada, we hate Brits even more than you.

You cannot eliminate the power structure of a foreign country without first judging
the consequences -- and in a politically anarchistic region such as the Middle East,
the consequences of weakening the control of a government with weapons of mass
destruction are dire indeed.

> Thanks to our great leader George Bush(I'm not too fond of American
>leaders either,I always vote for the other guy;-) we didn't kick Saddam's
>Ass hard enough. If the people had more say in Their government we would
>have overthrown the Iraqi government.

Yes, many of the American people are clueless about international affairs. How
kind of you to remind us.

>> Also, just to keep you informed, Alberta has twice as much oil now as Texas
>> had about 50 years ago.

Texas crude is currently being stockpiled, I believe. That means it hasn't been used,
for they who cannot figure this out themselves.
