I got through the bring it on's ok, but I'm finding that most of the hurt me plenty's are very difficult. I got through one of the upper tiers using my time-honoured "wait till they bunch up and then strafe them" technique but the others.... well, they're really hard. I know I have to raise my game. But it's still fun :-) BB -- http://www.kruse.co.uk/seo-sitemap.htm http://www.here-be-posters.co.uk/art-prints-sitemap.htm http://www.here-be-posters.co.uk/lithographs.htm

Have you learned to hog the good weapons and armor yet?

I have to say no, I haven't learned to hog anything. I am learning to use distance in some circumstances, that works in a one on one. If you know where he's gonna pop out of, and you stand just the right distance away, you can pop him but he doesn't hurt you so much. Got to get it just right though. I have ENTER bound to one of the thumb buttons on my mouse, making it very easy. Here are some examples of weapon binds. //weapons bind t "weapon 4" //nades bind r "weapon 5" //Rocket bind g "weapon 1" //Gauntlet bind v "weapon 2" // Machine Gun bind w "weapon 7" //rail gun bind z "weapon 9" //BFG bind BACKSPACE "weapon 6" //LG <---mousewheel click bind MOUSE3 "weapon 6" //LG bind MWHEELDOWN "weapon 3" //shotgun bind MWHEELUP ""weapon 8" //plasma bind MOUSE1 "+attack" You can manually change them in Quake III Arena\baseq3\q3config.cfg, open it with notepad and find the settings there. Better is to create a text file called autoexec.cfg and put it in \baseq3. Then put your custom binds and settings in that file. that way you won't overwrite them, and you can exec it when you play diff. mods. >>Have you learned to hog the good weapons and armor yet? > > I have to say no, I haven't learned to hog anything. Don't get too used to sitting and waiting, you need to learn how to do things at FULL SPEED, and keep moving. Otherwise, when there is a crowd, you will be blasted to bits. But you already experience that, I'm sure. :)

It's like I'm just playing the game and you guys are all playing the software, that's something you have to beat too. >>>Have you learned to hog the good weapons and armor yet? >> >> I have to say no, I haven't learned to hog anything. But you already experience that, I'm sure. :) I like to stand off to one side and blast the others when they're all involved with each other. But I do have to go one on one sometimes too. I don't much like it. I'm a third of the way through the hurt me plentys now. Quake is a good way to learn how your computer works, and it can teach you how to configure things. This is one of the reasons that it's the greatest game ever made. > I like to stand off to one side and blast the others when they're all > involved with each other. That will get you last place EVERY time if you ever play online against real opponents.
