Gidday, Am getting an error when connecting "User Interface is version 4, expected 3". I have googled the error and it seems to happen a lot but there are very few knowledgable answers. Running WinXP SP2 Quake 3 arena with latest updates (1.32?) Have downloaded and tried a version changer which degrades the game to the required version. Also downloaded several of the mods which appear on servers. Tried to find a knowledgebase on server site but failed. tried google. Anything I can try? Even a definitive answer as to what the error means would be good. Thanks Jeff

Games plays OK in single person. Nvidia drivers are not very latest but are reasonable. Directx is 9.0c. Thanks for your suggestion, I may try a reinstall of some more recent video drivers. Some mods are made for older q3 versions than q3 1.32, that may be one cause of this error. I don't know when the switch from 3 to 4 happened. You need to use an older quake3.exe if you want to run mods that are not updated to work with the latest q3 versions. Just rename it so you can have several versions of the file. Team Arena uses a different menu system, which is at version 6 currently.
